Structural Phase Transition of Ferroelectric and Superionic Crystals

&size(18){Research Interest};

&size(16){  };
There exist many crystals which have finite polarizations even in the absence of the electric filed. Such polarization is called spontaneous polarization. A crystal which has spontaneous polarization is called a pyroelectric crystal. Among pyroelectric crystals a crystal whose spontaneous polarization can be reversed by applied electric field is a ferroelectric. Electrical conductivity, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction and electron spin resonance (ESR) measurements are performed on ferroelectric and superionic crystals. The structural changes and the physical properties due to the phase transitions have been clarified by these experiments.
